Accessible Faith

St. George’s is an active and growing community. We have a long history of engaging with our local community, offering services and programs for Parishioners and the community at large.

Sharing Eucharist

In recent years, we have grown our outreach significantly—responding to needs around us through bi-weekly hospitality meals, a community Sharing Cupboard, a weekly coffee drop-in and other ministries.

In order to strengthen our capacity to meet the needs of the people we serve, we must ensure our facilities are accessible for all. Our vision is to serve our parish, our neighborhood, and our community more effectively by making our parish facilities fully accessible to all who come to seek support and comfort, to celebrate milestones, and to join with us in worship.

St George's Church

Our Accessible Faith project provides us with the means to build our capacity for new and expanded outreach activities and direct service, now and for the future. It has three components, which will be addressed over the next five years:

  • Install an elevator and exterior tower to grant access to all levels of the Parish Hall, as well as offices, kitchen facilities and washrooms
  • Build a ground-level atrium and covered walkway joining the new elevator and English porch entrance
  • Install accessible washrooms

A Call to Action

Our hope is that everyone in our parish will contribute in some way to bringing our Accessible Faith vision to life, and in making a difference in the lives of those in our community. We hope you will consider the impact this initiative will have in the life of our Parish community and neighbourhood.
