Lent 2012 at St. George’s

Five Practices of Fruitful Discipleship

For Lent 2012 our theme comes from Bishop Robert Schnase of the United Methodist Church, District of Missouri

Bishop Robert Schnase

Bishop Schnase names Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations that challenge us to explore the shape and character of our lives as followers of Jesus together in the life of the Church. He asks how we can be both faithful and fruitful in our congregations and in our individual lives as Christ’s disciples. At St. George’s this Lent we will explore on five successive Sunday mornings and five successive Thursday evenings how these five practices might begin to be renewed and deepened in the quality and direction of our own life in ministry and mission. The schedule is as follows:

1. Radical Hospitality (Feb 26 and March 1)

2. Passionate Worship (March 4 and 8)

3. Intentional Faith Development (March 11 and 15)

4. Risk-taking Mission and Service (March 18 and 22)

5. Extravagant Generosity (March 25 and 29)

Please join in to this conversation as we consider our life in Christ together!
