In the interests of an ‘everyday faith’, a member of St. George’s has drawn my attention to a challenging essay in First Things by theological ethicist Stanley Hauerwas on the call upon the Christian student: What is your education for? What obligations might you have as a Christian and a student? What kind of student will you be?
There’s a lot to ponder in the essay. It will be good for you to read it — and it will point you to further reading and thinking: “Think of books as the fine threads of a spider’s web. They link and connect.”
Here’s the link: “Go with God: An open letter to young Christians on their way to college.”
