Advent II – Year B (2017)

Isaiah 40:1–11; Psalm 85:1–2, 8–13; 2 Peter 3:8–15a; Mark 1:1-8

Rev. Dr. Tim Connor

John the Baptist delivers a strong message to repent, to receive forgiveness and to change the way we think and act. The aim of repentance is to change the shape and direction of our lives, to draw us into a closer relationship with God. Too often we focus our attention on the material things of everyday life to a degree that draws us away from Him. To repent is to open ourselves to a life lived fully, guided by scripture and focused on a vision of God at work in world.
