Lent V – Year C

Isaiah 43:16-21; Psalm 126; Philippians 3:4b-14; John 12:1-8

Rev. Dr. Tim Connor

The practices of Lent – prayer, study, fasting, self-examination and alms-giving – are easily interrupted by the cares of daily life. They are also part of the ongoing practice of the Christian Life. Lent is a season of grace that calls us to engage in these practices out of a sense of gratitude. Isaiah reminds us that we are are called to a covenant relationship with God, a relationship marked by constancy and forgiveness, a life filled with the joy that God is forming us for that relationship. We hear the good news and we press on toward a deeper relationship with him.
