Rev. Dr. Tim Connor

We move quickly from the message of Christmas to the beginning of Jesus ministry among people. We arrive at a wedding, and this time a community has started to gather around Jesus. Already, arising from faith, some of the prophetic titles have already been attributed to him. When the wine has run out, we read a miraculous account of turning water into wine. We sometimes resist the story by trying to explain it away. When we do we miss the point that is is the first of seven signs by which Jesus reveals his glory. It is a story that shows itself in grace – abundant, generous, inexhaustible. Where Jesus is there is celebration – life lived to the full.
