Easter III – Year A

Acts 2:1-14a;  Psalm 116:1-3, 10-17;  1 Peter 1:17-23;  Luke 24:13-35

Rev.  Dale Nikkel

In a culture that is addicted to empirical explanations for everything the resurrection of Jesus is difficult to approach. Yet, pushing past the debate and speculation about events leads us to a different insight that starts with letting the mystery remain mysterious. Two disciples  on the road to Emmaus,  feeling alone and confused, came to the sudden realization that  Jesus himself was their travel companion. Likewise, we need to understand that Jesus reveals truth in mystery, in the unexpected. We experience the dynamic Christ in experiences that go beyond words. How is Christ journeying with me when I feel alone and confused?
